ARRIVAL – KALPITIYA (Approx. travel time- 3Hrs. 30mins.; Distance - 145 Km) On arrival, meet & greet at the airport and transfer to Lodge in Kalpitiya. Check-in and relax to recover from the jet lag.

Day 2 |
DOLPHIN & WHALECWATCHING TOUR – BIRD WATCHING LAGOON TOUR Early morning make Dolphin & Whale Watching tour (Season from November to April). In Kalpitiya you do not have to head out too deep into the ocean to catch a glimpse of Dolphin & Whales as the continental shelf is much closer and alongside the shoreline. The Spinner dolphin being the most common seen along with Bottlenose, Risso’s, Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins, etc. Also you can spot the Blue Whales (largest mammal in the world), Bryde's Whales , Sperm Whales , Killer Whales , False Killer , Dwarf , Melon Headed Whales , Cuvier's Beaked Whales. Return to hotel for breakfast. Afternoon make an exciting adventure exploring the Kalpitiya lagoon by boat. The entire lagoon is a marine sanctuary with a number of diverse habitats ranging from flat coastal plains and vast sand dune beaches to mangrove swamps and elephant inhabited jungles. Dinner and overnight stay at Lodge in Kalpitiya. |

Day 3 |
KALPITIYA – WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK (Approx. travel time- 2Hrs. 45mins.; Distance - 130 Km) Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Wilpattu National Park. Wilpattu National Park is situated along the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. It comprises of a unique complex of lakes called Villus, which are natural basins that are filled up with rainwater and are surrounded by open grassy plains set within dense scrub jungle. The biggest draws in Wilpattu are Leopards and Sloth bears. Alongside these, it is possible to see Asian Elephants, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Pig, Asiatic Buffalo and Mugger Crocodiles. Endemic birds include the Ceylon Junglefowl, Brown-capped Babbler, Ceylon Woodshrike and Black-capped Bulbul in riverine habitats. Muntjac or Barking Deer are more easily seen in Wilpattu than any other national park. Butterflies recorded include the Great Eggfly, Great Orange Tip, Glad-eye Bushbrown, Blue Mormon, Common Mormon, Common Rose and Crimson Rose. Afternoon make jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Wilpattu Camp Site. |

Day 5 |
WILPATTU – SIGIRIYA ROCK FROTRESS – POLONNARUWA LORIS TRIAL ( Approx. travel time- 3Hrs. 30mins.; Distance - 140 Km) Breakfast at hotel. Visit leave for visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya Rock Fortress is UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most dramatic, inspiring and beautiful historical locations in the world. A mythical past of feuding dynasties suits Sigiriya’s striking setting- it was built in 5th century AD by king, Kasyapa, as a fortress-palace. The palace complex at the foot of the rock still has the remains of four indoor swimming pools where the king’s 500 concubines bathed. The palace structure was built with complex water arteries in the walls that provided natural air conditioning in the hot climate. On the summit, reached with the help of metal staircases and ladders, you can see the remains of the palace walls, gardens and ponds. The mirror walls of the Sigiriya rock still retain the world-famous frescoes of the king’s concubines, who originated from all parts of the world. Leave for Polonnaruwa. Check in at hotel. Evening 18.30 hrs, start the Loris by night tour. The tour starts when the animals wake up and start to feed and socialize. While we do not get to see much interaction between these animals it’s easy to spot them just munching leaves or trying to catch an insect for it’s meal. MONKEY KINGDOM TOUR – MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK ELPEHNAT GATHERING ( Approx. travel time- 2Hrs.; Distance - 90 Km) Early morning proceed to Polonnaruwa Ancient city to do the money kingdom tour. The Monkey Kingdom Expedition off Polonnaruwa is a fascinating activity for those who love observing animal species in their beautiful natural environment. This expedition will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with large communities of monkeys. You will be able to observe a variety of social behaviors, including: maternal care, playtime, competition for food, grooming, a rich repertoire of facial gestures, body postures and vocal signals of these very interesting primates. Return to hotel for breakfast. Afternoon make thrilling jeep safari at Minneriya National Park. The park is home to the large and ancient Minneriya Tank, and it boasts an enormous variety of habitat and wildlife, covered in dry tropical forest, grasslands and wetlands. In Safari often spot large numbers of Sri Lankan Elephants gathering around grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season, offering visitors an unforgettable sight. These elephants gather to socialize, bathe, feed and mate. Minneriya also hosts more than 160 species of birds, a few of which are endemic to Sri Lanka, such as the Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, the Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl, and the Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill. Large mammals, including, sloth bears, sambar deer, and axis deer, as well as smaller mammals such as the Purple-Faced Langur, Toque Macaque, and the Grey Slender Loris, Saltwater crocodiles and other reptiles, including monitor lizards and snakes, add another dimension to this rich ecosystem. Day 7 |
POLONNARUWA – WASGAMUWA ELEPHANT EXPEDITION ( Approx. travel time- 2Hrs.15mins. ; Distance - 100 Km) Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Wasgamuwa. Check in to the hotel. Afternoon head towards the Wasgamuwa tank where you will be briefed about the experience. The Wasgamuwa tank is a popular place to witness the wild elephants and the large number of birds. You will be climbing a tree top watch hut and witness how elephants and humans use the same route for movement. You will spent there till dusk and you will be amazed with sounds of nocturnal species as the darkness falls you will head back to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Wasgamuwa. |

Day 8 |
WASGAMUWA ELEPHANT EXPEDTION – WASGAMUWA NATIONAL PARK JEEP SAFARI ( Approx. travel time- 1Hr. ; Distance - 50 Km) Early morning make walk to Sun Rise Rock where you can see the wildlife of the lake and also interaract with the villagers and understand village activities Breakfast at hotel. Make village visit to observe the orange plantation that have been set up to act as elephant deterrents while providing the villagers with a supplementary income. You will be listening to the villagers stories and learn how the orange trees are helping them to coexist with elephants. Afternoon make jeep safari at Wasgamuwa National Park. The Park which was originally a nature reserve was elevated to the status of a National Park in 1984 with the objective of providing a safe refuge for the wildlife displaced as a result of the Mahaweli Development Project. Considered as a locale with high biodiversity the park boasts of 150 floral species some with economic value along with a 1,700 year old Tamarind tree. The Park is also home to 23 species of mammals such as large herds of elephants, the endemic purple-faced langur and toque macaque monkey, water buffalo, wild boar, sambar and axis deer and the less frequently seen sloth bear and leopard. Amongst the reptiles are five endemic species the Water monitor, Mugger crocodile, Estuarine crocodile along with Lizards such as Calotes ceylonensis and Otocryptis wiegmanni, serpents and other rare reptile species. Adding to the wildlife splendor are 17 species of fish, 50 species of butterflies, of which eight are endemic. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Wasgamuwa. |

WASGAMUWA – DAMBULLA ROCK CAVE TEMPLE – NEGOMBO ( Approx. travel time- 4Hrs. 15mins. ; Distance - 240 Km) Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Dambulla. Visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. The largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, the rock from which the caves were carved towers 160 meters (520 ft) over the surrounding plains. A total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses also stand in the site. Leave for Negombo. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Negombo. |
